Garden Valley is just off Interstate 20 at exit 548 18 miles northwest of Tyler.

The golf course is a parkland layout over slightly rolling hills along pine tree lined fairways with Butler Lake and numerous ponds as the dominant feature. The fairways are a blend of narrow and broad, corridors with sand bunkers defending the landing zones and mid-sized, quick, and undulating greens. It plays to 6,754 yards from the tips, 72.4/132, course/slope ratings with two shorter tees, designed by John Sanford, Jr.
