The Hartsville CC is north of Hartsville off Lakeview on the north side of Prestwood Lake.

The layout is a classic design wandering over level terrain along generally narrow oak and pine, tree lined fairways. There's several ponds producing forced carries and an abundance of sand with conventional and long sandy waste areas along the fairways' corridors and defending the greens. From the middle tees it plays to 6,100 yards, 69.2/121, course/slope ratings with three sets of tees overall. The club originated in the 1920s with later design work by Robert Trent Jones, Sr design and a redesign by Tom Watson and Al Fink.
