Old Hickory is west of Woodbridge off I-95 near the Fountainhead Regional Park partially within a residential community.

The golf course moves over slightly hilly terrain and along tree lined fairways with five water hazards in play in addition to an abundance of sand bunkers defending the fairways and securing the greens. The fairways are wide open off the tee and often mounded on the sides somewhat corralling errant tee balls. From the tips it's 7,077 yards, 74.5/145, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees, designed by Timothy Freeland in 2003.
