Portage CC is east of Portage on the north side of Swan Lake about an hour north of Madison and 30 minutes from The Dells.

The golf course is a compact, traditional layout wandering along narrow, tree lined fairways over slightly undulating terrain. There's numerous slight doglegs and one water hazards with the small, oval greens well protected by sand traps. It's a short layout at 6,356 yards from the tips, 70.4/127, course/slope ratings with three shorter tees with design work by Arthur Johnson.
