The Smoky Mountain Country Club is about 45 minute east of Knoxville on I-40 at exit #435 on the east side of the Interstate.

The golf course is a parkland style design with a mix of narrow and broad tree lined, hilly and sloping fairways providing a variety of uneven lies and awkward stances in a scenic setting at the base of the mountains. There's 400 feet of elevation change, several doglegs along mostly parallel holes, a moderate amount of sand traps, and mid-sized to larger greens. From the back tees it's 6,150 yards and a 70.5/122, course/slope ratings with two shorter tees, designed by Thomas Walker.
