Twisted Gun Golf Club is in Mingo County the middle of the West Virginia Appalachians 70 miles west of Beckley and south of Logan in Wharncliffe.
The golf course was created on the land that remained from a coal strip mining operation effectively laying out the course on top of a cut off mountain top. It's somewhat forgiving with mounded and open fairways off the tee bordered by tall fescue grasses with slight elevation change overlooking the ridgetops of Central Appalachia. There's 4 sets of tees with the back tees playing to 7,015 yards, 73.1/124, course/slope ratings, designed by Don Nicewonder in 2002.
