Apple Mountain is east of Placerville on Rt 50 on the way to the Eldorado National Forest.

The golf course is a mountain-style layout over significant elevation change and is not walkable. The layout is challenging due to the nature of the rolling and sloping fairways along thick tree-lined corridors with scenic views throughout the Sierra Nevada foothills. It can play to 6,308 yards, 69.8/138, course/slope ratings from the back tees with four shorter tees, designed by Algie Pulley and Brad Bell.
