The Aspen Golf Club is on the northwest side of Aspen on CO 82 in a valley setting surrounded by the Rockies.

The course is a parkland layout with the fairways defined by scattered stands of trees. It's generally straightforward along broad fairways with water hazards on 14 holes, a moderate use of sand bunkers, and generous greens. It's in a scenic setting with views of Roaring Fork Valley, Buttermilk, Mount Hayden, Hunter Creek Valley, and Pyramid Peak, and especially spectacular from the 19th hole. The course was originally designed by Frank Hummel with a redesign by Dick Phelps and plays to 7,114 yards, 73.8/139, course/slope ratings off the tips with 6 shorter sets of tee boxes.
