Atchafalaya is located on the west side of Morgan City 1 1/2 hours west of New Orleans just off US 90 to the south.

The golf course was carved through a bayou in the middle of the Atchafalaya Basin with lakes, stream, and wetlands in play throughout. The course's strength is on the approach to the greens which are guarded by sand bunkers or water hazards and the greens mid-sized with moderate speed and break. The course was designed by von Hagge, Smelek and Baril in 2005 and from the tips is 7,533 yards, 76.4/136, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees.
