Avon Lakes has 36 championship holes of golf located on the north side of Youngstown in Warren.

The Lakes is a generally level parkland layout traversing along old hardwood growth. It features tree-lined fairways with classic doglegs, 150 sand bunkers, multiple water hazards, and large undulating and quick greens. Four sets of tees run from 4,904 yards to 7.551 yards, with a course rating of 76.5 and a slope of 139. The course was one of Pete Dye's earlier designs but was redesigned to bring it up to modern standards in the late 1990s.

Squaw Creek is 5 minutes east and is much the same style and terrain as the Buhl but is longer and more challenging. It's a classic Stanley Thompson design at 6,900 yards, 134/75.2 slope/course rating from the tips, and four shorter tees.
