Avon Lakes has 36 championship holes of golf located on the north side of Youngstown in Warren.

The Lakes is a generally level, parkland layout traversing along old hardwood growth, tree lined fairways with classic doglegs, 150 sand bunkers, multiple water hazards, and large greens which are undulating and quick. There's four sets of tees from 4,904 yards to 7.551 yards where the course rating is 76.5 and the slope 139, one of Pete Dye's earlier designs, but re-designed to bring it up to modern standards in the late 1990s.

Squaw Creek, is 5 minutes east and is much the same style and terrain as the Buhl but longer and more challenging. It's a classic Stanley Thompson design at 6,900 yards, 134/75.2 slope/course rating from the tips with four shorter tees.
