Bayside is in western Nebraska, 15 miles north of I-80 at Ogallala on the south shore of McConaughy Lake.

The golf course is a links-style design with a wide-open feel, which requires distance and accuracy off the tee. The course is rough-hewn into a rugged stretch of land with arroyos, ruts, bluffs, and native grassland along the fairway borders. The conditions off the fairway are natural with no maintenance whatsoever, but the fairways and greens are well maintained, offering a striking contrast to the native flora. There are four sets of tees overall, and from the back tees, it plays to 6,597 yards, 71.6/128. course/slope ratings, designed by Dan Axland and Dave Proctor.
