Black Bear is 30 minutes southwest of Duluth off I-35 at exit 235 and part of the Black Bear Casino.

The golf course is a target-style parkland layout lumbering along narrow, tree-lined corridors with well-bunked fairways and greens, in addition to ponds or wetlands in play on the majority of the holes. There are four sets of tees from 5,072 yards to 6,560 yards, and the white tees play to 6,057 yards. The course and slope ratings are 70.0/137, designed by Robert Graves.
