Boulder Canyon is midway between Sturgis and Deadwood on US 14 set back in an open meadow surrounded by the Black Hills.

The golf course is a 9 hole, parkland layout with scattered tree lined fairways bordered by a pond and a stream leading to small to mid-sized, oval greens defended by a scattering of sand bunkers. There's five sets of tees overall, the middle tees play to 3,068 yards, 35.1/129, course/slope ratings.
