Brown Deer is 12 miles north of downtown Milwaukee off I-43 at Good Hope Road to the west.

The golf course is a fairly straightforward, parkland style layout with fairways bordered by mature trees along slight doglegs, sand bunkers both in the fairways and around the greens, and a stream traversing half the layout. There's three sets of tees, the middle tees play to 6,306 yards, 70.6/129, course/slope ratings. It's a solid classic designed in 1929 by George Hansen with later design work by Andy North and Roger Packard, and has been the venue for the annual PGA Event in Milwaukee and the shortest course on Tour.
