Buckhorn is located 45 minutes north of downtown San Antonio off IH-10 in Comfort adjoining the Interstate on the north side.

The golf course is a classic, Hill Country layout and an entertaining design with elevated tees and greens as it journeys over the existing lay of the land. The broad fairways with stands of live oaks at the borders are interspersed with creeks, a pond, and sand traps to nab the most errant shots. The course was designed by Art Schaupeter in 2000 and can play to 6,648 yards from the back tees, par of 71, and from the blue tees is 6,155 yards, 69.8/124 course and slope ratings.
