Buena Vista is out in Taft about 20 miles west of Bakersfield just off Taft Highway.

It is a scenic setting for the golf course with views of the mountains, the recreation area, and the surrounding farms. The layout is straightforward but challenging along hilly and sloping, tree-lined fairways with a sparing use of sand bunkers generally greenside. The course plays to 6,710 yards from the blue tees, 72.9/124, course/slope ratings with two shorter tees, designed by George Mifflin in 1951.
