Buffalo Dunes Golf Course is located on the south side of Garden City on US 83 in western Kansas west of Dodge City.

The wind and the heavy rough are the major impediments to par on this links style course. The fairways are bordered by heavy high fescue with scattered trees at the borders and the constant wind playing havoc. There's several water hazards in play and a modest amount of sand bunkers along the fairways and defending the greens. The course was designed by Fred Hummel in 1976 and plays to 6,806 yards, 72.5/124, course/slope ratings from the championship tees with two shorter tees.
