Butte Country Club is on the southeast side of Butte, just north of the airport. It is in a stunning setting with views of the Rockies and the Continental Divide throughout the round. The course is private on the weekends but open for public play during the week, albeit on the expensive side.

The layout journeys over slightly undulating land winding along tree-lined fairways on either side of Blacktail Creek. Eight sand traps mostly defend the modest, crowned, and quick greens. It's a par of 70 and only 6,343 yards from the back tees, with 68.7/125 course/slope ratings and two shorter tees. It's a classic design by Alex Findlay, a golf course architect from the early 1900s.
