The Canaan Valley Resort and golf course are three hours from Pittsburgh or D.C., due west of Winchester in the Monongahela National Forest.

The course is a roomy, parkland-style design with water on eight holes and a generous amount of sand bunkers positioned along the fairways, guarding the greens in a completely natural setting. From the Blue tees, it's 6,984 yards, 73.3/130, course/slope ratings with three shorter tees, designed by Geoffrey Cornish.
