The Capon Springs Resort is 45 minutes west of Winchester, near the West Virginia/Virginia state line. It is a small, 115-room, all-inclusive resort set on 4,700 acres of tumbling land. It's billed as a family resort with fishing, spa, pickleball and tennis, swimming, hiking, a 9-hole regulation golf course, and a 9-hole par 3.

It's a scenic mountain layout featuring hilly and sloping fairways and approaches along tree-lined corridors. The course was developed in the 1930s with three par 3s and one par 5, par of 34 with three sets of tees-the tips play to 2,913 yards, 34.4/112, course/.slope ratings, designed by Lou Austin.
