Carson Valley is located 2 miles south of Gardnerville off Hwy 395, about 30 minutes south of Carson City, along the East Fork of the Carson River through a residential community.

The golf course is a compact layout along the level, cottonwood-tree-lined fairways bordering the Carson River, with streams and the River coming into play on most holes. It's a par 71, 6,020 yards, 68.0/117 course/slope ratings from the men's tees, designed by Red Swift in the 1960s.
