Cedar Creek is on the north side of Ottumwa off the 63 bypass at Rt 149 into town surrounded by farmland and fields.

The golf course is a traditional layout wandering over slightly undulating terrain with fairways defined by trees, and Cedar Creek traversing the lower middle of the layout impacting play on numerous holes. The course was designed by Chic Adams and from the tips will play to 6,456 yards with a 122 slope, from the white tees it's 6,122 yards, 69.8/119 course and slope ratings with two shorter tees.
