Chestatee is located just past the North Georgia Premium Outlet Mall in Dawsonville off GA 400 25 minutes north of the Perimeter on the west side of Lake Lanier.

The routing is through an upscale, residential development along hilly and sloping, tree lined fairways with views of the Lake from some of the holes. The fairways and greens are bordered by sand traps and numerous water features providing a strategic test just to keep the ball in play. It was designed by Denis Griffiths playing to an overall yardage of 6,877 yards, 72.5/137, course/slope ratings with five shorter tees.
