Clifton Highlands is across the Mississippi from Hastings in Wisconsin south of I-94 at the River Falls exit then south on WI 35.

The course is a parkland layout in the St. Croix River Valley carved through deep woods over slightly rolling topography. It's generally straightforward save for several doglegs with six water features and 25 sand traps defending the oval or kidney. shaped greens and the occasional fairway. It plays to 6,642 yards, 71.9/129, course/slope ratings from the tips with four shorter tees, designed by Dr. Gordon Emerson.
