Coal Creek is on the southeast side of Boulder off the Denver/Boulder Turnpike at McCaslin.

The golf course marches over a large tract of land between two residential communities with Coal Creek splitting the middle of the layout. It's a parkland design moving over tree lined fairways with the Creek and multiple ponds impacting play on 13 holes in addition to a variety of shapes and sizes of sand traps at the landing zones and guarding the greens. It's a shot maker's layout and at the "Pick & Shovel" tees measures 6,598 yards, 70.1/123 course and slope ratings with four shorter tees, a Dick Phelps design redesigned by Kevin Norby.
