Cottonwood Hills is on the west side of Bozeman on Norris Road on the west side of the Gallatin River with an 18 hole, championship course as well as a 9 hole, executive style layout.

The Championship layout cruises over mostly level land with young trees defining the fairways, numerous slight doglegs, several creeks snaking through the course, and sand bunkers along the fairways and to the sides of the greens. It can play to 7,053 yards from the tips, 72.8/138, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees, designed by Bob Quick. The Executive course, a collection of par 3s and 4s, and plays to 1,181 yards and a par of 29.
