Coyote del Malpais is a little over an hour west of Albuquerque off I-40 at exit 85 on the west side of Grants.

The course treks along wide open fairways over relatively flat land below the 11,300-foot Mount Taylor. It's still challenging, with 16 water hazards in play and a generous amount of sand bunkers as it makes its way over Horace Mesa's foothills. From the black tees, it's 6,755 yards, 71.0/119, course/slope ratings with two shorter tees, designed by William Neff.
