Crooked Oak is a few miles north of Colquitt, surrounded by farmland and fields. It is an hour southwest of Albany and 30 minutes north of Bainbridge.

The golf course is a combination parkland layout with tree-lined fairways and a few open, links-style holes. The layout moves along level terrain, with water hazards in play on six holes and sand traps positioned at the landing areas and around the greens. It was designed by Arthur Davis and plays to 6,737 from the tips, 71.8/124 course/slope ratings with three shorter tees.
