Crown Colony is located on the south side of Lufkin off US 59 to the east. The golf course is a private club in a residential community but open for limited public play by way of a stay and play package with on-site villas.

The layout is a parkland design along pine tree lined, rolling fairways and loaded up with doglegs, sand bunkers, and water hazards requiring an attention to course management. The greens are one of the course's main defenses as they're modest in size, quick, and sloping, and well defended by sand and water. It can play to 6,692 yards from the tips, 73.2/145, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees, designed by Robert von Hagge and Bruce Devlin in 1979
