Cypress Lakes is on the south side of Muscle Shoals east of Woodward on the north side of 6th Street.

The golf course is partially through a residential community with water in play on most holes, frequent doglegs, and a multitude and variety of sand bunkers-a pure shotmaker's layout. It measures 6,562 yards from the tips, par 71, 71.8/128, course/slope ratings with four shorter tee boxes, designed by Gary Roger Baird in the early 1990s.
