Dakota Winds is associated with the Dakota Magic Casino on the ND/SD border about an hour south of Fargo right at exit 1 off I-29.

The course is an open links style layout with multiple water hazards and an array of sand bunkers along with generous, contoured greens. The fairways are mounded and lined with tall fescue and prairie grasses with the greens slightly undulating and moderately fast. There's a total of 27 holes here which are used to make two separate golf courses, the Sisseton and the Wahpeton. Both have four sets of tees with the Sisseton layout playing to 7,000 yards from the tips, 73.8/129, course/slope ratings; Wahpeton-6,959 yards, 73.7/128, designed by Joel Goldstrand.
