Dayton Valley is 15 miles east of Carson City, off US 50, in a scenic desert setting with views of the Sierra Nevada mountain range.

The golf course is a wide open links-style layout bounding over mounded fairways within a residential community. Multiple lakes and ponds are in play, in addition to an abundance of sand bunkers defending the fairways, and the generous, contoured greens surrounded by collection areas make up the layout. An Arnold Palmer design, the course plays to 7,218 yards, 74.0/131 course/slope ratings from the back tees with three shorter tees.
