Elkhorn is on the north side of Stockton between I-5 and the 99 Freeway on 8 mile Rd.

The golf course is an established parkland layout with tree lined fairways around and through a residential development on level terrain. It's challenging with narrow fairways, water hazards on multiple holes, and well bunkered, landing zones and greens. The Blue tees are at 6,486 yards with a 130 slope, the Whites are 6,126 yards, 70.2/126, course/slope ratings, designed by Bert Stamps in the early 1960s.
