Ellinwood is a classic design from the 1920s located between Fitchburg and Greenfield in Athol on the south side of Rt 202.

The course is carved through the woods along fairways lined with trees through separate and unique corridors. Sand bunkers primarily defend the small, perched greens, and a few ponds and streams are in play. It's a short course at 6,210 yards from the back tees, 69.5/123 course/slope ratings, with three shorter tees. Donald Ross designed the original nine holes, with Geoffrey Cornish adding the second nine and redesigning it.
