Elmwood is northwest of Sioux Falls off Russell Street just south of Joe Foss Field on the east side of the Big Sioux River.

There's 27 holes at Elmwood, the 18 hole Championship layout and the North 9. Both are parkland style layout with the fairways defined by trees along flat, river bottom land with a smattering of sand bunkers, several water hazards, and generous green complexes. The Championship layout can play to 6,745 yards, 72.1/122, course/slope ratings from the tips with four shorter tees, originally designed by Larry Packard.
