Firekeeper is part of the Prairie Band Casino, about 20 minutes due north of Topeka, surrounded by fields and forests.

The layout blends open and forested, mounded fairways bordered by tall fescue grasses. There are a moderate amount of sand traps and several water features as it saunters along isolated, unique fairway corridors. It can play as long as 7,560 yards or as short as 4,796 yards from the forward tees, the Buffalo tees are 6,325 yards, 71.8/126, course/slope ratings, designed by Notah Behay III and Jeff Brauer.
