The Fort is about 100 miles west of Salina, just off I-70 at the Fort Hays exit.

The golf course marches on either side of old Fort Hayes and is a basic municipal layout winding along tree-lined fairways over flat land. There's a lake and a stream impacting play on several holes but sparing use of sand bunkers mostly defending the modest greens.
