Franklin Valley is on the south side of Jackson, off RT 83 to the west, and is surrounded by fields and forests.

The course is in a scenic setting well out in the country, over rolling hills along tree-lined fairways. There's a stream and numerous ponds in addition to sand bunkers, mostly greenside, with a short and hilly front nine and a long, flat backside. It's a relatively modest layout at only 6,391 yards from the tips, 70.2/117 course/slope ratings, and two shorter tees.
