French Woods is midway between Monticello and Binghamton off the Southern Tier on NY 97 on the east side of Hancock.

The layout is hilly, Catskill Mountains' layout lumbering along broad, tree lined fairways with multiple water hazards, blind shots, minimal sand bunkers, and minuscule greens. It journeys over a scenic setting with views for miles and without homes or development along the course. The course was designed by Messrs. Bass/Anderson/Skinner and is fairly short at 6,018 yards, par of 72, 70.0/113, course/slope ratings from the back tees.
