Frye Lake National is 15 minutes south of the Quad Cities off I-74 at the Rt 81 exit to Sherrard on the west shore of Fyre Lake within a residential community.

The golf course is a parkland layout with wide and rolling, tree-lined fairways that move around numerous lakes, including a series of holes along Karl Lake. Tall prairie grasses border the fairways, and a bevy of sand traps litter the landing zones and guard the greens. Four sets of tees range from 4,377 yards to 6,505 yards, with 72.1/130 course/slope ratings from the tips and a par of 70, a Jack Nicklaus design.
