Frye Lake National is 15 minutes south of the Quad Cities off I-74 at the Rt 81 exit to Sherrard on the west shore of Fyre Lake within a residential community.

The golf course is a parkland layout along wide and rolling, tree lined fairways moving around numerous lakes, including a series of holes along Karl Lake. There's tall prairie grasses at the fairways' borders and a bevy of sand traps littering the landing zones and guarding the greens. There's four sets of tees from 4,377 yards to 6,505 yards, 72.1/130, course/slope ratings from the tips with a par of 70, a Jack Nicklaus design.
