The Gateway Cities Golf Club is 95 miles northwest of Minot partially in Portal, ND.
It's a most unusual golf course in that the first eight holes are played in Saskatchewan and the ninth's par 3 green is in the United States in Portal. incidentally, during daylight savings time which Saskatchewan doesn't observe, it takes an hour for the ball to fly the 129 yards to reach the 9th green. The golf course was apparently built to allow golfers from the North Dakota, which was dry until the end of prohibition, some form of alcohol by visiting Canada. It's a basic, 9 hole prairie, layout over level terrain with one dogleg and generous and smooth, oval greens. It's a par of 34 and 2,745 yards, 35.1/126, course/slope ratings off the back tees with one shorter tee.
