Glacier Woods Golf Club is on the northeast side of Iola on Water Street carved through the woods on Iola Lake without homes or development.

The course has impressive elevation change throughout with elevated tees and greens in a scenic, park-like setting. It provides for a mix of broad and constricted, tree lined fairways with numerous doglegs bordered by boulders, sand bunkers, and water hazards over rolling terrain. From the tips it's 6,520 yards, 71.6/130, course/slope ratings with three shorter sets of tees, designed by Lawrence Packard.
