Golden Sands is northwest of Shawano Lake journeying over a large, natural tract of land with homes along a few of the fairways.

The golf course is a parkland design with evergreen and young oak, tree lined fairways over slightly rolling land. There's ponds, lakes, and streams in play on multiple holes with a modest amount of sand traps generally positioned around the ample greens. There's five sets of tees overall with the tips playing to 6,148 yards, 69.2/117, course/slope ratings, designed by Homer Fieldhouse.
