The Golf Club of Newport is 20 minutes northeast of Utica just west of Newport in the Kuyahoora Valley.

The golf course is a parkland layout with trees defining the fairways, a moderate amount of sand bunkering along the fairways but primarily greenside, and a few ponds in play. It's generally playable and straightforward where off-line drives will find the trees, but mostly recoverable save for a couple of holes. From the tips it's 7,067 yards 73.1/130, course/slope ratings, a Geoffrey Cornish design from the 1960s.
