Headwaters Golf Course is in Three Forks at exit 278 off I-90 midway between Bozeman and Butte and adjoins the Interstate.

The golf course floats over mostly level and open land with a scattering of trees at the margins at the confluence of the Gallatin, Jefferson and Madison Rivers which form to become the Missouri River. There's water hazards in play on six holes and sand bunkers defending most of the modest, oval greens. From the back tees the course can play to 3,308 yards, 33.7/115, course/slope with three shorter tees.
