Hemlock is just north of Ludington between Muskegon and Traverse City on Decker Road.

The course is a parkland style of layout etched through the deep woods and dunes with waste bunkers running the length of several holes in addition to conventional sand traps defending the fairways and greens. Overall, it provides an assortment of split fairways, elevation changes, wetlands, forced carries, and doglegs. It was designed by Raymond Hearn and from the tips is 7,044-yards, 73.4/139, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees.
