Heritage Oaks is 25 miles north of Burlington on the southwest side of Wapello in a remote setting surrounded by fields and forest.

The layout commences with wide open, straightforward fairways over rolling terrain with tall prairie grasses at the margins. The backside, by contrast, is threaded through narrow, hardwood tree lined corridors with several water features in play. It can play to 6,311 yards, 69.4/109, course/slope ratings off the back tees with two shorter tees, designed by Gary Buchanan.
