Highland is on the east side of Pocatello off I-15 at Pocatello Creek Road to the east.

The golf course is surrounded by homes on the exterior holes, and all interior fairways are bordered by old-growth and hardwood trees. It's generally straightforward, with a faint variety of holes over slightly rolling terrain and a sprinkling of sand bunkers bordering many of the modest, oval, or kidney-shaped greens. It was designed by George Von Elm in 1962 and plays to 6,512 yards from the back tees, 69.8/117, course/slope ratings with two shorter tees.
