Hillcrest is a municipal golf course just northeast of downtown Durango on a mesa which overlooks Durango and surrounded by the LaPlata Mountains and the Animas River Valley.

The golf course is a parkland style layout over rolling hills and along tree lined, hard and fast fairways with several water hazards and the modest greens guarded by sand traps. It was designed by Frank Hummel and plays to 6,903 yards from the tips, 71.2/125, course/slope ratings with three shorter tees.
