Hillcrest is located in Yankton off US 81 to the east within a residential development.

The layout journeys along evergreen lined fairways over level terrain with multiple ponds and streams and sand bunkers defending the oval or kidney shaped greens and the occasional fairway. It was designed by Homer Fieldhouse in 1953 and plays to an overall yardage of 6,874 yards from the back tees, 72.2/130, course/slope ratings with three shorter tee boxes.
